Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Notes from Grooming - Laura Rhodes
Now that the thermometer is climbing, many pet owners are dreading the seasonal shedding most dogs and cats experience as their bodies prepare for warmer temperatures. The sheer volume of undercoat some dogs can shed is astounding, leaving the owner to wonder if Fido won't soon be hairless altogether.

So can anything be done to alleviate this extra furry time of year? Luckily, the answer is yes. While a total shave-down is always an option, some owners prefer to keep their pets' coats intact and remove all the dead fur at once.

Suite Paws offers several different de-shedding options that can greatly reduce your pet's shedding, while leaving her coat looking exactly the same. The process is tailored to each animal's coat. The majority of undercoat removal is done during the bath via specialized professional conditioners and treatment products. De-shedding prices are charged by the quarter-hour. Single-coated, short-haired dogs typically require 15 minutes, while thicker, double-coated breeds require 30 minutes or more.

Stephanie's Tip: While advanced obedience isn't necessary for daycare, quick and easy manner lessons definitely can be beneficial. Easy to learn commands like "sit," "stay," "come," "enough" and "drop it" can make our ability to communicate with each other much easier. The learning process also can help strengthen the bond between you, your family and your canine companions."
