Looking forward to the Dog Days of Summer!
From Laura, Tom, Chris, Rae, and Jennifer
Have you made your travel plans yet? As you do, don't forget to also plan for your pets. Suite Paws is expecting a busy summer - so make your reservations soon to ensure your pets get the summer vacation they deserve!

New Sunday Hours
Beginning June 6th, our Sunday hours will mirror our holiday schedule: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. This will help beachgoers enjoy less-hectic Sundays, while still giving our morning pick-ups the time they need.

Price Adjustments
On June 14th, we will introduce a minor price adjustment, including a decrease in our suite prices. We will also institute a new warranty program. Current pricing will be honored on reservations made before June 1. Watch the website for updates.

Catch!
As a thank you for your patronage (and to support some of our favorite local fish!) we are pleased to offer complimentary tickets to Carolina Mudcats baseball again this summer. If you're interested, give us a call or inquire on your next visit.

Spring Cleaning
We're Spring cleaning inventory at Suite Paws and that means you can save up to 75 percent on many items, including beautiful bowls and accessories. First-come, first served.

New Charity
We are supporting a charity called Matter of Trust (www.matteroftrust.org) that recycles clean hair (dog and human) as well as old nylons/pantyhose/hosiery, to help clean up oil spills. We invite your donations of old laundered hosiery.

Groomers Corner
With Kathy and Stacy
Please note: We continue to offer grooming seven days/week, however, Sundays are now reserved for our overnight guests.

Summer is here, along with high heat and humidity. For our pets, this often leads to skin irritations, mats, dry skin and hot spots. Here are some tips:
  • Frequent brushing is very important in the summer months, especially for long-haired dogs, to prevent mat formation. Some mats can be pulled apart, but most will eventually need to be shaved. Meanwhile, your pet's skin is becoming irritated and even painful. Frequent brushing and grooming every 6-8 weeks will help.
  • Hot spots (pyrotraumatic dermatitis) appear without warning, and can be very painful and irritating. Long-haired dogs and/or pets with mats, allergies, and fleas are very susceptible. Swimming can also be a cause. If you see your pet licking or chewing a particular spot,it should be checked to see if treatment is indicated.
  • The Peoples Pharmacy™ offers this homemade recipe for a skin-irritation spray for pets: 1/3 water, 1/3 original Listerine and 1/3 mineral oil.
We are happy to assist with any questions about your pet's coat or grooming needs. Just give us a yelp, er, yell.

Daycare Notes
From Jennifer and Stephanie
Dogs like summer camp too! To help ensure we are staffed appropriately for the upsurge in summer daycare, please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to bring your pet for daycare. If you know you plan to use us every other Wednesday, for example, we can set you up in the system so that your pet won't miss a minute of summer fun. We always appreciate a call when you can't make it or need to make a change.

Good News: Stephanie (and her new baby) are back part-time to keep our pictures and videos up-to-date and to do some training. Welcome back, Stephanie! Contact Stephanie at: Stephanie@suitepaws.com.

We recommend 1/2 day daycare for boarding pets who participate in daycare. A half day is 3+ hours of group play. A boarder who regularly does full-day daycare has the option of full-day daycare while boarding.

Pets who do not regularly do full-days can become over-fatigued, irritable, and subject to sore muscles or even injury.

On weekdays, our daycare runs from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Drop-off/pick-up times are 7 AM - 7 PM.

Morning 1/2 day daycare runs from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM and the afternoon session is offered from 12:30 PM - 4 PM. Please drop off your afternoon half-day pets between noon and 12:30 PM. Pets dropped off before noon are subject to full day rates.

On weekends and holidays we offer only 1/2 day daycare, which normally runs from @ 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

High-energy dogs do best in the mornings, while afternoons are better suited to more relaxed dogs. Afternoons tend to be a little calmer, especially for those pets doing a full day.
